Got so stuck on the oil pastels again! I was so in love with the way the bright red stood out on the brown paper. This one was a bit of an accident actually. I was tidying up my oil pastels (which is what I do before I start a new piece), and three colours were left outside of the box. I really liked how they clashed, so did a drawing with them. This drawing is one of my generic faces, just a full on, vague, nobody’s face kinda thing.
This next one was inspired by a friend of mine who is full of expression, and it shows on her face. I love it, but she doesn’t. I need to keep reminding her that pretty is whatever the world wants pretty to be, and therefore is an odd concept cos everyone has a different idea of pretty. Here is a gem of an expression. I think this drawing is nothing like her, but that might be the perfectionism speaking. I want to do more drawings of her because she has so much colour in her, even if she won’t admit it.
Don’t you just love that expression? I know, I know, it’s a bit out of proportion and weird but I am working on it ok?
